Simulator training has been widely used in the law enforcement, commercial freight, and airline sectors for decades; it has been proven to consistently lower crash and collision rates amongst participants, with some major corporations showing accident reduction rates of up to 30%.
The Corporate Program begins with a 45-minute introductory classroom session that will introduce the SPOT method of decision-making: Scan, Predict, Options, and Taking action - this includes the psychological, physical and environmental factors that most affect a driver's capability. We will also revisit the foundations of safe driving; seat and mirror settings, vehicle dynamics and tire choices. New electronic driver aids such as Stability Management, Traction Control and ABS are all reviewed.
Next is a fifteen minute introductory driving session on a drive for life simulator; be prepared to be amazed at how truly realistic this technology is!
drive for life simulators provide the opportunity to make real-time decisions. In addition to handling the vehicle properly, the driver must deal with changes in weather, traffic density and road conditions. The driver will venture out into virtual-reality driving scenarios that include Urban, Suburban, Rural and Highway modules.
After the value of good decision making is reinforced through SPOT, drivers will now practice and demonstrate the skills necessary to complete tasks and overcome challenges on the way to their destination.
During the next 3 hours, drivers will improve their skills in our SAFE learning environment. SAFE is not only an acronym for how we successfully build better skills: Scanning, Acquiring options, Forming habits and Excelling. SAFE also refers to the difficult driving challenges that can only be safely provided by drive for life.
